In this guide
  1. Confirm where the project belongs
  2. Name the shared outcome
  3. Create the brief and its canvas home
  4. Write a small, readable brief
  5. Connect one concrete next step
  6. Reopen the work and verify its state

01

Confirm where the project belongs

Sign in at app.boilerrum.com and open the workspace navigation. From a canvas, Open sidebar keeps the resource menu visible. Read the current workspace name and use Select workspace if you need another available workspace. Wait for its project list to load before creating anything; the selected workspace defines the surrounding project and resource context.

02

Name the shared outcome

Open Select project and choose New Project when the option is available. Enter “Team launch” in Project name and choose Create project. Use a name that describes the outcome rather than a temporary test number. Confirm that the picker now shows the new project and the Library belongs to it before adding your first resource.

03

Create the brief and its canvas home

In Library choose Create resource → New Document. The page opens on a canvas; in a project with no canvas, opening the document also creates a host canvas. Name the document “Team launch brief” using Document title. Check the library for the named page and its canvas so you understand why two resources can appear after this first document.

04

Write a small, readable brief

Select the document card and choose Focus mode from its toolbar. If editing the title hid the toolbar, select the card again. Write a short purpose, the people involved and the decision still needed. In an empty paragraph, type / and use Heading 2 for Context, Decision and Next steps. Keep the first page short enough to review before a meeting.

05

Connect one concrete next step

Write a concrete action, select its text and choose Create issue from selection. Review Issue title, Assignee and Due date before Create and link issue. A default workflow status must exist. Follow the inserted reference and check the task details. The current task experience stores work in this browser, so verify the record there before treating it as delivered team coordination.

06

Reopen the work and verify its state

Read the visible save feedback before Return to canvas. Saved on this device describes a durable local copy while live changes remain pending; wait for Saved when checking completed saving. Reopen the brief through Library and follow its action reference again. Your starting result is a named project with readable context and a checked next step, ready for deeper document and canvas work.

What you will have

One named project with a readable brief, a canvas home and a verified next step.
